MENTOR SYSTEM
The mentor system is designed to reward members who have shown themselves to be reliable, dependable, and helpful to the site. It's a way to give new members people to turn to when staff are not around as well, and to let them know that they can trust the information they're being given by these people.
First, what is a mentor? A mentor is not a staff member. It is extremely important to note this. A mentor will not be involved in application review, in disciplinary procedures, site updates, advertising, running events, or general site upkeep (of course, becoming a mentor is a good step towards becoming staff if that is something you are interested in). Mentors are members.
A mentor is a member who is familiar with the site. They know the rules, they know the guidelines, they know what is it and isn't acceptable for characters. They understand how the stats and the abilities work. They're active, often around, friendly and chatty. In short, a mentor is someone willing to take a newcomer under their wing and guide them through the initial application process and even through their first couple threads to help them get acquainted to the site.
There are perks to being a mentor. Additional races are opened up, as well as keyblade armor, dream eater companions, and other character quirks.
Why are these limited to Mentors?
Because Mentors are offering a service to the site and it's only fair to reward them for this.
In order to become a mentor, you must be a member of the site for at least two weeks. During that time, you must be active, courteous, and engaging. It's not a requirement, but it helps if you have two characters or show an interest in playing another character. Finally, you cannot apply to be a mentor. You can only be recommended to be one by another mentor.
