CRUELLA DE VIL
Cigarette Holder | Villains | Thirty Four |
5’9” | 131 | Human |
Female | Heterosexual | London |
appearance
Cruella has an extremely slender build; her physique is very harshly jagged and angular, complete with glass-cutting cheekbones and skeletal features. She is quite tall and stands at 5’9”, yet is often seen wearing her signature red heels – which only makes her tower over others. Her complexion is an extremely pale white color, and a clear sign of her limited exposure to the sun. After all, for Cruella, being out in the sun means that one works hard – and working for what she wants is not her style. Her eyes are a shade of dark gray, like that of a brewing storm cloud. As far as makeup is concerned, Cruella’s makeup clearly makes a statement: complete with harsh green eyeshadow and large (almost) cartoonish drawn on eyebrows – it’s apparent that Cruella is not fond of subtlety. Overall Cruella’s appearance gives off her flamboyant and gaudy nature, while also appearing pampered as if she’s never worked a day in her life, which she hasn’t. Most notably, however, about Cruella is her wild and crazy hair. Half black and half white, Cruella’s hair is a untamed mess that she calls “fashion”. She believes that teasing her hair to no end, and styling it wildly is a part of her signature look and would not be caught dead without it.

history
Cruella De Vil was raised in her homeworld of London and her childhood was surprisingly normal. She went to school, had friends, and her family, while not exceedingly wealthy, always managed to have food on the table. As the youngest child of four, Cruella was always the one to be given hand me downs, used school supplies, and typically received the least amount of enthusiasm when trying something new. Her parents were tired, and Cruella had been unplanned - which meant that they were less than ecstatic to have another mouth to feed and care for. However, they still loved her and tried their hardest to give her an enjoyable childhood. Because of that, to say they were negligent parents would certainly be unfair.
Because of her parents’ indifference, however, Cruella had always lived her life feeling as if she were in her siblings’ shadows. Therefore, the young women resented her brothers and sisters and grew to loathe them entirely as time went on. She couldn’t understand why her parents would give them more attention than her and always found herself striving to win their approval. It never worked. No matter how hard she tried, she was never good enough to get what she wanted – her parents' unrelenting attention and praise. Sure, the bar was high, but she was the top of her class and was easily the most ambitious of her siblings. Cruella knew how to get what she wanted, and she was unrelenting in her pursuit of it.
Finally, the day came where Cruella left her home behind – and she never looked back.
She had learned very soon after leaving her family behind that the only way to get the attention and praise she longed for was to become the shiniest and most glamorous object in the room. That way no one would be able to look away from her – even if they wanted to. From then on, Cruella worked her way to the top of society’s food chain. Acquiring wealth, influential power, and practically anything she wanted. The secret to her success? She was ambitious, tenacious, and made life a living hell for those who refused to give her what she wanted. With her newly acquired wealth, Cruella splurged. She went for the gaudiest, most flashy, eye-catching possessions imaginable. She purchased an estate, a crazily extravagant car, and stocked her wardrobe with the one thing in the world that she found more lavish and delectably eye-catching than anything else.
Fur.
Oh, how the mere sound of the word sends goosebumps down her spine.
What was more powerful and glamorous than fur? There was practically nothing which Cruella could imagine offered more of a sense of superiority than wearing the fur of a beast who was clearly inferior to oneself. Why merely touching a fur coat often gave Cruella the feeling of power. The feeling that she was on top. The feeling that she did not need anyone to give her attention, or validation because she demanded it from damn near any and every creature on this planet. She was an alpha. She was the very best there was.
As the years passed, Cruella became renowned as a collector, a connoisseur, and a lover of the rarest and most beautiful furs she could obtain. However, nothing was ever enough, because just as soon as she would obtain the newest trophy in her collection, she would move on to the next. Each time, no matter who protested, Cruella received what she wanted – even if she had to do so illegally. She was immoral and had no issues getting what she wanted. She had the influence and the money to avoid punishment as well.
It wasn’t until later in life that her most ingenious idea hit her.
Spots.
Cruella wanted a spotted coat. No, not any ordinary spotted coat. A coat made from the very specific spots of Dalmatians – Dalmatian puppies, to be exact. Why puppies? Well, their fur was the softest, and easily the best to work with. And lest it is mentioned that any sort of infant creature was easily a nuisance. Killing those little mongrels would be a humanitarian act for society. So, naturally, Cruella began to purchase puppies from across the globe. And it was when she had finally acquired eighty-four of the mangy little beasts that she made a personal house call to an old friend.
Of course, the term friend is used quite loosely. She approached her former classmate, Anita, longing to buy the puppies of her and her husband’s Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita. However, Roger, Anita's husband, refused to the sale of the puppies and sent Cruella into a fit of rage. Who were they to deny her their puppies? Cruella was unwilling to be told she could not obtain something. And she surely would not let such a refusal suppress her desire for the Dalmatians. Naturally, she took matters into her own hands and commissioned two goons, Jasper and Horace, to steal the puppies from Anita and to transport them to her estate – where they would skin them.
Much to her dismay, her goons were quite incompetent and lost the puppies. However, after the had puppies disguised themselves and snuck away onto a truck, Cruella could track them down in her car. With her puppy coat almost in her grasp, she pursued the truck and attempted to stop the puppies through any means necessary. Like some sort of skeletal, hellish, beast or demon she furiously attempted to run them off the mountaintop.
However, her plans were foiled, and her car was destroyed as she ended up being run off the mountain herself. To say she was mad would be a drastic understatement. She was seething. So angry, in fact, that her dark heart opened and called the Heartless to her world. For a brief stint, she could even control the Heartless and, as she harnessed the power of darkness, she called forth the Heartless to return the puppies to her and she got her wish. Cruella had the puppies at last. And now, she had some hellish dark forces on her side too.
Furious with the blasted dogs for attempting to escape, Cruella decided that the only suitable death for the dogs would be suffocation. Therefore, she entrapped all 99 Dalmatians in small trunks of varying sizes and waited for them to run out of oxygen- with three apiece, they would surely be taken out sooner, rather than later. However, before she could carry through with killing the puppies, the Heartless turned on her and consumed her and her world in darkness.
With Cruella no longer stomping about, time passed, and Sora eventually rescued the puppies (which had been scattered across the worlds) and returned them to their family. However, a few years after the defeat of the darkness and the restoration of the worlds – Cruella found herself revived, just as furious as she was the day she died. However, this time it was no longer about puppies. Cruella was angry with everyone. Once again, Cruella turned to the darkness. This time, however, things would be different.
She began to work with the darkness, letting it fuel her and allowing it to unleash new powers from within herself. With these powers, Cruella decided that one thing was for sure, she would have those puppies. And no one would ever say no to her again.

plot magic & abilities
Corridors of Darkness: Due to her newly found dark powers, Cruella has obtained the ability to summon corridors at a whim to transport her to wherever she’d like throughout the worlds. Often times, Cruella enjoys utilizing this method of transportation because it’s far more eye catching and completely more practical than walking everywhere. Especially considering how dingy some of these worlds are.
Cigarette Smoke: While not so much an “ability” persay, Cruella is nearly always smoking one of her nasty cigarettes and as a result is constantly leaving a noxious green smoke trail everywhere she goes. This smoke, while not particularly harmful, can be a bit distracting and can also cause others to cough and hack for a moment (which could work in a situation where she needs a brief distraction to escape).

inventory
name: Cigarette Holder
description: Cruella’s cigarette holder is her item of choice for channelling her dark powers. Due to it’s dark magic properties, it is well reinforced and can usually stand up as a blunt object to hit others with. Of course, the damage that it would do would be very minimal. The main effectiveness behind it would be her ability to channel dark magic through it and weaponize her otherwise ordinary cigarette smoke.
name: Mink Coat
description: Cruella is never seen without her prized mink coat. Like her cigarette holder, her coat has been weaponized to a degree due to her newfound dark powers. While not able to truly cause any substantial damage on it’s own, it can provide a few good disorienting blows due to packing an extra punch from it’s dark magic. Often times she just needs to swing it about or smack someone with one of it’s wings to land a hit.
