Lea was nervous as he stood in the tower. He'd asked Master Yen Sid to help him find Riku and bring him here. He wanted to ask Riku in person and he hoped he would say yes. He knew he needed training. They couldn't wait for him to get as good as Sora and Riku were. Not with Xenahort out there. And he knew he may end up facing Isa again too. He wanted to be ready. He began pacing as he was really nervous. If Riku said no he'd have to focus more on the training with Yen Sid and hoped it would be enough. He had trained Mickey after all and the mouse king was no push over. When the door opened he stopped and looked nervous. There was no sign of Yen Sid or the three fairies. Perhaps they were making themselves scarce so he could talk to Riku in private. "Riku? Is that you?" asked Lea. |

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | The tower wasn't a place that you would often find Riku. Being a Master made him one of the main trainers of the other Union members, Lunars and others alike, and most of his time spent was on the Land of Departure. It had gotten to the point that he had started to refer to it as his home, with even the Islands just fading away from memory and becoming a distant place where he had once spent his days.
He had thought Xehanort's defeat would usher in an era of peace and rest. The former, perhaps, but the latter?
The Master had been at the Tower to drop off some reports for Yen Sid and had been on his way out when he heard his name called. He recognized the voice near-immediately, which was what allowed for the sarcastic response to slip out: "No, it's just someone who looks and sounds identical to him."
Riku paused a moment, glancing over his shoulder to frown at the oddly-frazzled appearance that Lea had. "You... look stressed. Something wrong?"

Lea chuckled hearing Riku's sarcasm. "I didn't know you had a twin brother." said Lea. He nodded walking over to Riku. "I need your help Riku. Will you become my teacher? My mentor. My master. Whatever you want to call it. You've channeled both light and darkness in a way no one has seen before. I could use darkness as a nobody but now I fear it could hurt me if I'm not careful. I want to channel it so it doesn't consume me. I don't want to risk losing my heart again now that I have it back. Will you help me?" said Lea. He paused looking at him with a grin. "I haven't tried using my powers since we rescued Sora from the Xenahort club. But I know just light alone may not be enough. You've shown everyone that you don't have to fear the darkness but can use it alongside the light. I want to do that too. Use light and darkness together." said Lea. Riku |

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | "It was a joke." Riku muttered the words to himself, positive that Lea knew that and was just trying to get under his skin a little. It was unfortunately working, causing him to feel a bit off kiltered. Amazing how easy it was for the red-head to have this effect on him.
As the older male continued to talk, Riku found himself simply blinking as he just-- listened. There wasn't much else he could do at first; it felt like he was listening to a long outpouring of... No, it wouldn't have been unfair and mean to say crazy. Lea might have been rambling, but he was just saying what he was feeling.
And he had a few good points.
"It's not hard to use it so it doesn't consume you..." Riku paused before shaking his head, knowing how blase that made him sound. "I-- I mean, it can be... but if you trust the people around you and if you can be open and honest with them then there's nothing for you to worry about. That's where the darkness, the true darkness, hides. In the deceit and the fear and the lies that wind up building up when you try to keep secrets from the people who closest to you."
Riku crossed his arms over his chest as he gave Lea a questioning look. "Is that something you think you could do? Be honest with people?"

Lea nodded and then frowned. "Trust isn't an easy thing with me. Isa and I drifted apart in the Organization. He was my first real friend and now he's working with Xenahort. And Roxas might as well be dead. I'm glad Sora's ok but every time I see him I'm just reminded of what I lost. My two best friends are gone and I've never felt so alone before." said Lea. He sighed sitting down in a chair. "As a Nobody it was a lot easier. But now I have my heart and alll those emotions are back." said Lea. He glanced up at Riku. "I suppose I could try. Do you have any pointers?" asked Lea. Riku |

Riku shook his head. "Roxas needs some time to get his head back on straight, but he'll be back to the whining jerk that you, for some reason, call your 'best friend'. He didn't have a Somebody to slip into like you did, though, and without any of Sora's memories or feelings he had to start from scratch all over again."
Sora had a Nobody, Kairi had a Nobody-- it was almost enough to make Riku feel left out. Despite how often he had flirted with darkness and allowed himself to be wrapped up in it, he had never truly lost his heart. The idea of losing himself, his thoughts and memories and feelings and just what made up Riku, was one of the few things that the Mast couldn't truly empathize with. Xehanort's heartless had slipped into his body, but even that had only lasted briefly and he had never truly taken over.
Did he had any advice? Riku could only sigh at that. "I wish I did, but trust isn't something you can really pick up or learn from someone else. It's up to you to make the decision to allow yourself to be open to someone else."
Riku waited a moment before making a vague gesture. "You could try with the other members of the union. Why not try to make friends with some of them?"

Lea shook his head. "Having a heart or not didn't change who we were that much. At least I don't think it did. Besides we were starting to gain new hearts. Especially Roxas. Or maybe Sora was influencing him more than any of us realized." said Lea. He wasn't sure as he wasn't a scholar. He hadn't studied the heart like Yen Sid or Xenahort had done. "Wait. So Roxas is out there somewhere? I thought he was still inside Sora." said Lea. This was news to him. His best friend was out there and he wanted to be there for him. But he'd give him his space. Being absorbed into someone and then being separated had to take some time to adjust. "It's funny I didn't have a heart when I worked in the organization. I only stayed loyal to Saix because we used to be friends. But then I met Roxas and Sora. And was around them I felt like I had a heart. I remembered what it felt like and I don't know if my memories were playing tricks on me. Or if it's just the two of them. I want to be friends with Sora but I was afraid he'd remind me too much of Roxas. Or the guy wouldn't like me. I mean I didn't get along with everyone in the Organization. Well I was Demyx and Zexion but they were more acquaintces I guess. Roxas was my only real friend there." said Roxas. He sighed. "I guess it couldn't hurt to start fresh with some new members. Less baggage. And try to hang out with Sora later." said Lea. He paused and looked up at Riku. "I do want your help on this training thing though. You are a Keyblade Master and I think I'd get better training from you. No offense to Master Yen Sid but there's only so far he can teach me. Because you were the first to use darkness with the keyblade and come back from it. I don't want to get lost in the darkness. I hope you could not just be my teacher but my guide." said Lea. |
