Ezekial is a tall, muscular, and imposing figure. Standing at 6'5" puts him well above nearly everyone, and his lean figure makes him even more intimdating. His eyes are a dark shade of brown that might almost be black and are just a few shades lighter than his hair, which is truly pitch.
Across Ezekiel's left eye is a scar that thankfully managed to not damage his eyesight. His left arm wasn't so lucky, and it ends right above his elbow. Being one-armed hasn't bothered Ezekiel too much-- at least it was his left arm since he is right handed.

history
Ezekiel was born and raised for the first 13 years of his life in the Radiant Gardens. He grew up with two others-- Gabriel and Lailah. Best of friends and inseparable, even if some issues did begin to arise between them as they grew older.
And when he was 13 the Gardens were destroyed.
Ezekiel and Gabriel both were taken the Traverse Town, and Lailah-- didn't make it. It was something that tore them both up inside for years, but what could they do? They had been kids. All they could try to do was move on with their lives now.
And they did.
Traverse Town was no place for a child, or a young teen, to grow up, but they did their best. They stayed out of the way of Cid and Leon, stayed out of trouble (or at least made sure they could get themselves out of whatever trouble they got into), and they grew... closer to one another. Neither one of them seemed willing to really cross the barrier from friendship to something more out of respect of Lailah's memory and out of fear of ruining what they had, but it seemed like inevitability would result in them being lovers.
It was during this time that he lost his arm and his face was scarred. Gabriel had wandered just a little too far into the off limits areas of Traverse Town and Ezekiel had gone after him to drag him out. He had saved his life, but at the cost of his arm and almost his eye.
Fate always had a funny way of ruining things like that, though. Before the final line could be crossed, a strange kid with an odd weapon showed up-- and it wasn't long after that they were able to leave Traverse Town and head back to the Gardens. There, they both became consumed with the efforts of trying to rebuild the town, and their burgeoning relationship took a backseat to that.
And then that same kid showed up again.
And then traveling the worlds became a possibility. The worlds were saved and both Gabriel and Ezekiel found themselves in possession of a keyblade.
And Gabriel left.
Both of them had been granted the power of the keyblade and Gabriel had left to join the Union. Ezekiel refused, determined to stay until he had found Lailah. It didn't matter that she was dead, or worse--
Angry words were exchanged. Accusations that he just couldn't let go of the past, that he loved her move, had been thrown around.
For several months Ezekiel continued to stay until he awoke to find a strange oddity in his home. A child, and a note. From Lailah.
Stop looking for me. I'll come home when I can. But please-- take care of Cassy until I can come back.
Being suddenly turned into a single father had not been the outcome that Ezekiel had expected, but it was a responsibility he took on gladly. Freed from having to stay at the Gardens, he left for the Land of Departure to officially join the Union -- and maybe to find Gabriel as well.
