Sephiroth

 appearance

Sephiroth stands at a menacing 6'4" and is 197 pounds of lean muscle with very little fat. He has long, silver hair that hangs down below his buttocks and piercing blue eyes that carry an otherworldly glow. Sephiroth dresses very extravagantly with a long black cape with red accents, small wings on both of his sleeves. Under his cape, he appears to have additional wing-like appendages. The lower half of his coat is closed with a belt, but the top portion is open, exposing his muscular chest. When he decides to battle seriously, he calls forth a single black wing over his right shoulder.

personality

Positive

• Driven. Sephiroth knows what he wants and will do whatever is required to get it.
• Confident. Sephiroth has unwavering confidence and determination. He comes off as incredibly sure of himself. Some view him as more arrogant than confident.
• Intelligent. Sephiroth is incredibly intelligent, having a keen mind for strategy and the manipulation of others.
• Well-Spoken. Sephiroth is a hard person to get a read on, as he knows how to manipulate his speech to give the person he is speaking to a certain impression. He is very clear and concise in his speech as well, typically getting to the point rather quickly.
• Respectful. While one might not view Sephiroth this way, there are those he views as worthy of respect. Cloud, for example, is Sephiroth's oldest and greatest enemy. Still, he holds a respect for the man for his strength and determination. (It also helps that Sephiroth sees a lot of himself in Cloud) He gives respect to total strangers as well and rarely comes off as hostile, even in the midst of battle.

Negative

• Insane. Sephiroth is very clearly insane. This fact is entirely self-evident to anyone who can pry a few words from the silver-haired warrior. He calls himself a "savior" of his world and holds an unhealthy obsession with Cloud.
• Sadistic. Sephiroth delights in seeing his victims squirm, especially Cloud. If he knows your weakness, he will exploit it. If he knows your doubts, he will not allow you to forget them. He enjoys undermining the confidence of his foes before utterly destroying them in their despair.
• Cold. Sephiroth is (unsurprisingly) very impersonal. He does not make friends easily, viewing them as distractions from his larger goals. He might make allies, but rarely do they evolve into friends or something more.
• Bloodthirsty. Sephiroth was literally made for battle. He is quick to start a fight and delights in every moment of it. He especially enjoys fighting seriously against those he deems worthy.
• Selfish. Sephiroth is incredibly self-centered. He cares about little other than his own needs and desires. If he cares about others, it is usually insofar as they serve a purpose.

history

Sephiroth was born as a machine of war in the far-off world of Gaia, where he received intense martial training and learned all of his abilities. It was also there where he met Cloud and his hatred for the man was born. His want for vengeance was strong enough to bring him back from the grip of death at the hands of Cloud several times. Once Cloud left his world, Sephiroth followed him, the darkness in the warrior's heart drawing Sephiroth to his target.

He found himself in the Olympus Coliseum during his search, drawn there by the presence of Cloud. He joined the Games, believing that the SOLDIER wouldn't be able to resist the opportunity to settle the score. He eventually got what he wanted. Cloud took the bait, and the two had their fated battle. No one but them know the outcome of that battle. The two went their separate ways again.

Cloud found himself in Radiant Garden, then called Hollow Bastion. Naturally, Sephiroth followed him there. While he could feel Cloud's presence, he couldn't quite pinpoint where he was, and so waited at the world's edge, near the stronghold of the Heartless on that world.

There, he encountered the hero, Sora. He also saw a keyblade for the first time, leading to him wishing to test the weapon's power and the power of its wielder to see who was truly the most worthy to wield the weapon. The keyblade's chosen proved to be an interesting distraction, but he was not the one Sephiroth was looking for. He wanted Cloud. No one else would do. 

He told Sora to bring him a message. It was time to settle things. Cloud responded to Sephiroth's challenge and the two met for their fated battle; the end all and be all of their strange rivalry. Not all went as planned, however. The appearance of the only one Sephiroth hated more than Cloud changed everything; Tifa Lockheart. She was the one keeping Cloud from falling into darkness.

She stood in his way, and so Sephiroth wished to see her dead. Before he could finish her, however, Cloud jumped to her defense. The two vanished in a blinding flash of light, heading off to have what they assumed would be their final battle. While the outcome remains unknown, whether or not Sephiroth was defeated, he returned again. His goal is, what else, to track down Cloud once more and force him to succumb to his darkness.

While the reason he wishes for this is unknown, it has proven to be the driving force of the dark angel's existence. The car that the dog is chasing, but can't quite seem to catch. Only one thing is certain; he will continue to chase that car and nothing will stop him. Not even death. As he has told Cloud many times; "no matter how many times I fall, your darkness keeps calling me back."
